How many of you Mom’s out there find the time every day to have a perfectly made up face and your hair washed and styled every day?  If anyone raised their hand just now I only have one thing to say….LIES!!!  This week was particularly brutal and my hair and outfit choices were sorely in need of revamping and washing!  You can’t go wrong with a lace embellished sweatshirt and polka dot printed denim.  Especially when it’s lemon yellow!!  Lauren Conrad’s skinny jean from Kohl's are one of my favorite jeans as far as fit goes and the prints go so you should definitely check them out.  They are called the “Pencil.”

In real life heels stay in my closet unless going somewhere particularly warm or if I know I won’t be chasing after monsters all day.  While my awesome heels make this ordinary everyday OOTD work, the reality for little old’ me is this:

Yes…..I KNOW! NO judging!!!;)

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!!!

Lost and Found.

Vest: Target; Top: Marshalls; Leggings: Marshalls; Boots: Minnetonka; Bag: Phillip Lim for Target; Watch: Michael Kors; Necklace: Juicy Couture (old)

My house has become a bit of a free for all as of late…my little ladies seem to have decided that they have free reign over MY closet.  I find my shoes, scarves, belts, shirts, etc. in their rooms, dress up box- all over the place!  Case in point, I’ve been looking for the denim vest I got at the end of Spring for over a month.  I was almost ready to purchase another one when I found it hanging at the back of the coat closet which had hardly been opened all Summer. Time to get a lock on my closet!!!

With my busy dance schedule this Fall, leggings are an essential staple to my wardrobe since they can be easily dressed up or down.  I’ve seen a lot of leopard print popping up again for the Fall and thought these leggings would be a fun change from the bazillion pairs of solid ones currently in my drawer.  I am always on the hunt for the perfect tunic t-shirt and this black high-low one I found on a recent Marshall’s trip will get lots of wear this season, I want one in every color!

Happy Monday everybody and don’t forget to follow me on Instagram (sharonn61681) and Bloglovin’.

Fringe and me go way back.  I remember a denim jacket with white fringe on it that was a hand-me-down from my cousin when I was probably 8 or 9.   While I truly loved it because it had been hers and she lived far away, I also was completely obsessed with it for all the same reasons I do now. Fringe adds a little something extra to any outfit.  The layered moccasin boots by Lauren Conrad have been a staple in my wardrobe for the last few years, so much so that I snagged a black pair by Minnetonka from TJMaxx at the end of the Spring.  So on this sunny afternoon I decided to make the most of the beautiful day and bust out these melon jeggings I picked up from the Gap Outlet.  I’ve had this gauzy cream flutter sleeve top for quite a while now and it has made not only a great outfit peace but also a great swimsuit cover-up!!  My apologies for my hot mess of a hair-do going on…it has been a long week.  I tried to keep accessories to a minimum and really loved the way the violet tone of the bag offset the jeans.

So even though I’m saying goodbye to my favorite season of the year, I am happy to be reuniting with some fringe and all its fashion benefits this Fall!

There comes a time in every girl’s life when the best news ever comes by the way of an announcement on Target’s website: 3.1 Phillip Lim!  Target teamed up with Phillip Lim which launched this past weekend and I was one of many who woke up early to get the pick of the crop at my local Target.  I missed out on the accessories because they weren’t out yet but I did snag the large black tote (that retails in the talented Mr. Lim’s house line for about $800)!  I also really loved the gold mini satchel but it was not available at the store by my house.  If you haven’t had a chance to check it out, you may have to look online as most of the retail stores have already been completely picked over!  The tote I got is currently sold out already online.  My outfit is a perfect combination of comfort and style, and totally functional for running errands with kids in tow…right?? Haha!  Well, maybe not so much my fab heels but one can indulge for a photo op!!
My photographer for the day was again my mini me, Amber.

Good morning!  We officially are making headway with our school routine and my new schedule at the dance studio and I find myself SLACKING…big time!  By the time I get all the extra little ones who visit our house every day out the door and my own people taken care of it is 9pm and all I want to do is sit on the couch and watch TV and do nothing else.  No working out, no editing the blog, absolutely nothing.  Ugh!!
On Sunday we woke up to gray gloom and rain. Double ugh!!!  It wasn’t exactly chilly out though so I decided to get at least one more wear out of this mint and cream stripe maxi.  The short sleeved taupe sweater and boots kept it toned down and because I had yet to wear this mint infinity scarf the entire summer I threw that on for good measure too.  (Though I really did feel a bit too matched-up, I am in a not wanting to be matching phase these days).
I had a special guest photographer, my cute little- though not so little- anymore ;( 8 year old daughter, Amber, played fashion photographer with me out in front of our house and snapped these of me!!!  Not too bad right?  She is my most fashion conscious of all three of my girlies and is always fun to take shopping with me.  Love you baby!
Have a great Tuesday and don’t forget to enter my Giveaway for the Light-Up Lip-gloss…..I’m seriously excited about it so go show me how much you love me. Ha!!

Glitz you up! Giveaway time!!

Hello friends!! Sorry for the lack of posts the last few days.  I was trying to enjoy what was probably our last round of warm sunny days around here for the year.

So I have had some requests about what makeup and skin care products I use so I hope you will indulge me a little today!;).

My everyday makeup routine is fairly basic since we have a hectic schedule most days.  For skincare I am a die hard Artistry junkie. Their anti-aging products are the BEST. You can check them out here.  On lazy days or if I'm in a hurry, I am also a fan of the Target brand facial cleansing wipes. For makeup my every day favorites are:

makeup

-Too Faced Beauty Balm in Cream Glow.  I prefer tinted moisturizers over foundations for day wear and this one is hands down my favorite right now. It has great coverage but also moisturizes and protects.

-NYX HD Photogenic Concealer.  I have used a concealer since I was in 7th grade and while there are a lot of good ones out there, this little baby is only $4.99 and is AMAZING! I wear it in Beige, it's a good in between shade even with tan skin.

-ELF Bronzer/Sun Kissed. I stopped using tanning beds a few years ago and have embraced the world of sunless tanning and bronzers. I saw this one by ELF at Target several years ago and have been using it ever since.

-Ulta Blush/Sweet Cheeks. I have several colors of blush but this one is the perfect cross of a peachy-pink and subtly brightens my face.

-Stila Eye shadow/Kitten. This eye shadow is the best shimmer gold shade! It's not over powering and I apply this to my lids and also use it as a highlighter.

-NYX Skinny Marker/Black. Love this liquid eye pen, it has a felt tip which makes applying almost full proof.

-Maybelline Cat Eye Mascara/Black.  I have a few different mascaras that I rotate with but I have been using this one the most lately. The applicator wand is just the right size for my fine lashes and makes them look full and long!

lipgloss

-And my favorite product of the moment is Artistry Light-Up Lip-gloss/Glitzy. I am a bit of a lip-gloss freak. I have a bazillion of them from several different brands. Artistry came out with the mother of all of them though. Not only does it have its own built in mirror, but the applicator has little led lights that make applying in a dark car or wherever so easy. Genius!! Glitzy is my favorite, what girl doesn't love pink lip-gloss? ;)  Fun Fact: It is also the favorite of the Miss America organization!

These are my everyday favorites right now and I wanted to share with one lucky reader a Glitzy Light Up Lip-gloss! Yay!! Here is how to enter my first giveaway:

Tee: Old Navy Vintage (old); Skirt: Old Navy (unavailable); Sandals: Ann Taylor Loft; Fedora: BP; Watch: Michael Kors

Well as I mentioned a few weeks ago, I tend to go through different phases when it comes to fashion.  Sometimes there are even a few different going on at the same time.  I would say right now I am definitely in a bright blue phase.  The color has been all over the runways and Fall lookbooks and I for one LOOOOOVE it!  We are having record breaking warm weather for this time of year in the Northwest and so I decided that my favorite light weight peacock vintage tee that I got from Old Navy forever ago and my cornflower blue maxi (also purchased from Old Navy last spring) would help me beat the heat as best I could.  And how cute is this fedora?  I truly find any excuse to wear this hat and today it kept the sunny day off my face!

Here are a few True Blue pieces I have my eyes on right now:

trueblue
Dress: Asos; Clutch: Clare Vivier; Bootie: Sole Society; Necklace: Stella & Dot

Hope everyone is enjoying this Indian Summer weather….lets cross our fingers it will stick around for a bit.  Be sure to check back tomorrow for my very first GIVEAWAY! ;)

Stripes = Love

Top: h.i.p. clothing (old); Boyfriend Crop Jean: 7 for All Mankind (Nordstrom/old); Shoes: Nine West; Necklace: Forever 21; Watch: Michael Kors

It is pretty evident to anyone who has been in my closet that I have a thing for stripes.  When me and my little ladies were school shopping I gravitated towards anything that was striped even for them. I really loved the contrasting colors of this top when I spotted it at Nordstrom Rack last spring.  The slim boyfriend cut crop jeans are by 7 For All Mankind and have made good use of themselves this summer whether it was walking around at the beach or running errands around town.  I literally could wear them everyday!

When I was trying to figure out how to style and accessorize this particular outfit I came to a realization, you can almost never have enough accessories and mine- with the exception of scarves- have become a little on the sparse side.  Of course I say that when the flower statement necklace I threw on last minute still had tags on it. (I don’t even remember when I bought it!!)  In any case, accessorizing is probably the most important part of defining your style and making an outfit you are on the fence about really WORK!! For those of you who asked, the lipgloss I was wearing on my last post as well as this one is called Strawberry Parfait by NYX in their butter gloss.  I literally want one in every color, I got mine at Ulta.

What is your favorite way to accessorize?  Hope you all are enjoying this Indian Summer that has come our way.  I hope it lasts for a bit longer!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Double life.

3 Sweater: Old; Bermuda Shorts: AEO; Bag: Steve Madden; Boots: Target

It is difficult some days to not feel like a bit of a washed-out Mama!  Most days you will find me in workout clothes, little makeup and hair that is usually a day or two past needing to be washed (sorry, its true).  And then after a few days of that nonsense, the fog lifts and I pull it together realizing how much I love some of the neglected items I have in my closet.  While my shoes of choice would be my favorite pumps with my white jeans, reality for a Saturday filled with dance classes, cleaning and errands calls for something less likely to be thrashed from little hands.  Are you leading a double life too??

Have a great Monday!
