Confession time. I am in a hopelessly devoted relationship with Target! Yup, the only reason my 3+ times a week Tarjay trips have gone down to once a week is because of my increasingly hectic schedule.  We have frequented the store so much so that my now 5 year old wanted to have her third birthday party in the Cafe.  In my own defense (anything to justify really…), their quality and selection whether it be cereal or shoes has gone up a lot I think over the last few years and so makes it an easy go to for the little club of shoppers that live at my house.
My oldest daughter and I were there the other day to grab groceries and a few things she wanted for school when I walked past the Junior’s section and saw these Aztec print leggings. $10!!! I have worn them probably 4 times since and was pleased when I realized how great they looked with the top from Forever 21 I got a few months ago. I LOVE the leather sleeves! It needed a little contrast so I layered with my favorite tissue tank tunic that I found at the Rack.  Since the bigger part of my day is spent chasing after little people and also because I am in denial that summer is making its way out- I threw on my DV sandals- easy! They will carry me right into the cooler Fall months ahead with a sweater and boots too so don’t be surprised if they make their appearance on here more than once.
On our way out I caught sight of this messenger bag, no words needed.

Long lasting relationships require attention, I think me and Target are in it for the long haul!
Happy Thursday.

So long, farewell.

Dear Summer, you are officially making the countdown to Fall and I can't help but feel a bit sad as I do every year at this time.  I'm never quite ready to let go of the long warm days, trips to the river, having my girlies home and late nights visiting with friends and family.  Sigh.

When I saw this leopard print fringed shawl/scarf at Target a few months ago the fashion light bulb went off with all of the possibilities. With the craziness that encompasses most of my days between teaching dance, running errands and my kiddos, leggings, a long tee, sandals and this fun fringed cover-up has been a go to get-up this summer.  These sunglasses are a little outside my comfort zone as far as shades go but the cat eye shape was just right and I liked branching out to the bright white of the frames. (They were also priced at $5 on clearance at Kohls which made the purchase all the more justifiable!)

I miss you already Summer.

Steal the Deal.

Just a quick little FYI for you all today! If you haven't ever heard of Sole Society then you are missing out!! Their shoe selection alone is amazing and they always have great sales. To day though all of their statement necklaces are 50% off. In my book that is basically F-R-E-E! Here are just a few that may or may not be making their way to my jewelry box soon!

These booties might be on my list of must haves too! Have a great Saturday.

It has been one long week!! Between it being the last week teaching my summer dance classes, our anniversary, blogging, having a stupid summer cold and getting my munchkins to all their activities- I guess it should come as no surprise that I’m wiped!  Yesterday my husband realized his phone was missing and that he had left it at the restaurant the night before.  So after a long crazy day, he trekked our girlies off for some late night bowling and I had the exciting task to go and retrieve the forgotten cell phone.  So rather than going straight there and then straight home to bed (which is what I SHOULD have done), I decided to “multi-task” and phoned my best friend to meet me for a late movie.  Love movie nights with her because even the most stupid comedy always ends up being way funnier if we are together.  And actually…even movies that are not funny at all, we laugh at the most inappropriate serious moments- and not very quietly.  So the later the movie time is the better since we most likely will be completely disruptive! (The movie Love Happens comes to mind, remember that Yas? We are mean people!)

Ok so anyways, since the evenings have been staying warm I threw on this light weight sweatshirt that I fell in love with at Target around Christmas time last year.  I love swans and this cute stud-print caught my eye immediately.  I have found a way to make it go with everything from Uggs to fitted maxi skirts. This time I paired it with my new fitted bermuda shorts that I snagged from American Eagle a few weeks ago which are now on sale! Go get them before they are gone, they are amazing.

We shot these photos with our Iphones after the movie hoping to not get kicked out by mall security.  I wish the lighting and my inspiration had been a little bit more on the ball because this random wall that said B O W L with a giant deer head over it was really fun and random.

Thanks so much for stopping by to read my new blog this week, have a great weekend!

Like my 4 year old daughter, I go through phases with shopping.  Sometimes its kelly green, sometimes its pink, and so on. But every few months or so I always end up back on a yellow kick.  When I saw this bright canary Mink Pink cut out tunic hanging in TBD at Nordy’s I knew that I was going to be in a full force phase yellow until it was hanging in my closet.  The $100 price tag was completely out of my budget though so I went online and scoured every site I could think of and finally found it on Revolve Clothing on sale!  Even still, it was out of my budget so I waited, checked almost every day actually- and finally on one grey Northwest morning, there was literally one left in MY size marked down to $40!!! The handful of times I have pulled it out to wear for something special my mood immediately lifts, my makeup looks that much better and my hair seems to hang just right. Ha! I swear it is true.  Last night my husband and I went out to dinner for our 9 year anniversary and so I decided to wear it since the summer is quickly making its way into Fall and I had yet to wear it.  I couldn’t help but feeling a little bit like the same girl he married as we walked down the street in NW Portland.  Hope you all have a piece hanging in your closets that make you feel special too, mine is called “Yellow.”  Have a great day!

p.s.  My hubby took these photos of me while we were walking to the restaurant with my Iphone!!!

A couple of months ago I was on a mission to locate this top in Forever 21 that I had seen on a fellow blogger’s post earlier in the week.  And as usual it is times like this when I have something particular in mind that I come across something else that I simply can’t live without! THIS dress came into my peripheral vision and it really, truly was love at first sight (yes I know, go roll your eyes….I do it all the time !:).  In any case, I took this straight to the fitting room without even another thought about the shirt I had been originally looking for and it fit and looked even better on then it did on the hanger!  Automatically my silly little mind started ticking off what I was going to wear it to and what shoes to pair it with- making it impossible for me to leave that night without it.  Fast forward a few days, Mother’s Day to be exact, I decided that the dress just couldn’t wait ‘til my birthday dinner with my friends so I did what I call my “test drive” and wore it to church.  When I came down the stairs to leave, 3 little ladies all gushed about my new dress with genuine admiration in their eyes and that right there TOTALLY justified my spontaneous purchase (though I did still find and buy that shirt I had gone there to get too…).  A few hours later in the hall at church, my sassy little friend Presley (age 6) stopped dead in her tracks when she walked past me and said “I have a question for you!  Why are you always just so cute!?” Hahaha- still makes me laugh every time!! I have worn this dress a handful of time since and have had so many compliments.  Moral of the story: Don’t Mess With True Love!

Hair Candy

Happy Tuesday!  We are fighting a nasty summer cold in our house so today’s post will be a bit brief.  But I thought I would share a little about one of my favorite current trends.  To me, accessorizing is key to finishing off a look and should not be limited to ears, necks and hands.  For many of you, the headband has made its appearance at least once in your life.  In our home, the neon yellow and white striped one is a hot commodity and its a race each morning to see who snags it first for the day. However I prefer these pretty little alternatives from Urban Outfitters (the turquoise stone one is my FAV!!) and Forever 21 to add a little something to almost any outfit.  For me, I will opt for less jewelry if I’m wearing a hair accessory but that is just my preference.

What do you think? Would you rock the headband trend?

P.S. Happy Anniversary to my amazing, talented husband! 9 years….how does that happen!!!

Yay for my second post!! Big thanks for all the messages and support.  For those who know me well (i.e. have had to wait for me to finish getting ready), when it comes to getting dressed for a night out, lunch date, or whatever I deem a “get cute” occasion- more than likely I will have changed my mind at least once…or maybe my whole closet is piled on my bed with the rejects.  In this case, I was going to watch my musician-husband play and threw on a bright tangerine top I snagged off the Old Navy clearance rack with my favorite flared 7’s.  I have had a slight infatuation with white blazers for a few seasons now and was all too happy to walk out of BP with this one by Frenchi.  Throw on my favorite gold accessories and I’m good right?  Nope, after a moment’s hesitation I decided I wanted a little bit more undone-edginess so after some digging I found this Elvis Presley screen tee at the bottom of a drawer and layered it with a black and white striped tissue tank.   Ready to go!

A new endeavor…

Hello friends! This moment has been a long time, lots of procrastination, kicking myself everyday for not jumping on the bandwagon- coming!! My name is Sharon and one morning about 3 or 4 years ago, I was frantically searching the internet (at work mind you) trying to find the amazing crystal and mesh scarf earrings that had graced Ali Fedotowsky’s ears the night before on After The Final Rose.  Low and behold, Dana Weiss of Possessionista.com came onto my radar as the finder of the designer of said earrings (Badgley Mischka in case you are dying to know like I was).  And it was on that quiet morning that I officially became addicted to the world of fashion blogging.

Fashion has always been a hobby for me and dare I say it- one of my happy places.  So, after lots of time spent saying I was going to do this, here I am writing my first post on what I hope to be a really fun project!  There are a lot of things that make me happy.  In general I am a pretty care-free type of gal,  but there is just something about a brand new pair of shoes that you know will go perfect with that dress you bought for your birthday that makes my heart skip just a little.  (Insert eye roll…ha!) Case in point, I can tell you exactly what I was wearing on my first date with my husband and where I had bought it from! ;)
A little bit more about me.  I am the mama of 3 beautiful little girls who all love dressing up as much as I will let them!  It is my own fault, but I often remind myself of my own Mom when I am hollering up the stairs for the 3rd time for my 8 year old “stop primping!”  Ha!!  I have been fortunate enough to be able to stay home with my babies but have ventured out just this past year teaching dance at a dance studio- something I have always wanted to do!! So while this blog will mostly be my outlet for fashion, I can guarantee that my vast interest in all sort of things like beauty, food, and my adventures with my children will make their appearances here as well.  Thanks so much for stopping by, bear with me while I learn the blogging ropes!
